Description / Special Requirements The Patient Change areas are provided for ambulant patients to change into gowns, to store their street clothing and to perform personal ablutions prior to and after examination or treatment. Change Rooms should be divided into Male and Female areas on a proportional basis and will include a changing area, toilet, shower, handbasin and lockers for secure storage of personal property. The changing area should include a bench seat or the patient to sit on whilst changing. The provision of a separate, enclosed change cubicle is optional. Design Considerations: - Waiting areas for gowned patients should be provided adjacent to the change cubicles with adequate privacy screening - Gowned patients should have access to toilet facilities without passing through public areas Acoustics: Sound attenuation level - medium; acoustic privacy required Body Protected Electrical Area
